I also think Ducky is great! For me he's the most fun to watch caracter. I just love his interactions with all the others. He's the father figure where everybody turns to when they need a shoulder to cry on or some advise or just a pat on the shoulder.
I love it when he talks to the death. Being in the medical profession as I am I always talk to patients, even if they are unconscious. Gave me strange looks from colleagues and family HAHA!
David is the best man for this job and I loved to hear he really prepared himself for this role by seeing and even doing some autopsies. He reads every book about it he can get his hands on...... Remarkable!

"Could Ducky's dark secret have something to do with his family, in that his mum had another child, & he/she was mental ill/ retarded or locked away in an intitution or at home for some reason. Maybe Ducky's sibling [maybe an identical twin] committed a crime which Ducky took the blame for, or covered up to protect them. I agree that whatever the Dark Secret is that Ducky's hiding it's for the best of intentions."

A sibling. I like it. And I agree, anything Ducky is hiding, is with the best of intentions.

I can't remember off hand which one it was, but I did check one of Ducky's stories.... and found it was correct.
