NCIS: The Beginning
NCIS series was first introduced during a 2 part-episode on the long-running television series "JAG" during their eighth season. These 2 episodes originally aired in April 2003 titled "Ice Queen" and "Meltdown". They edited the 2 episodes down to 1 hour. CBS ran this 1 hour episode on NCIS as a pilot titled "Navy NCIS: The Beginning" on October 21, 2003.

"Ice Queen" first aired on Tuesday, April 22, 2003, followed a week later by "Meltdown" on Tuesday, April 29, 2003. The main female cast member was NCIS Agent Viv Blackadder, played by Robyn Lively (Chicago Hope & Savannah), but replaced on the main series by Sasha Alexander's character, Special Agent Caitlin Todd.
