NCIS star Pauley Perrette (pictured with Spiro, left) is into recycling and planting trees. “I go outside and look at my ficus trees that I planted seven years ago and they’re so big now. They’re twice as big as me,” she said. Next month her character, Abby, has a featured episode that takes her out of the lab. She’s also working on a documentary film about civil rights attorney Mark Lane.

Slamdance: Mark Harmon on 'Weather Girl' and the NCIS spinoff

The truly dashing Mark Harmon stopped by the EW Loft on Saturday morning, and amidst regaling us with stories from his long Hollywood history (Stealing Home!), happily taking pictures with fans outside in the snow, and chatting up members of the Doors, he took a second to preview his Slamdance movie Weather Girl and confess why he's nervous about the just-announced spinoff of NCIS...

NCIS in the Media - NCISPeter Coyote Makes for a very NCIS Christmas

Peter Coyote, whose most recent TV gigs have included Brothers & Sisters (as Nora's pre-Treat Williams love interest), The 4400 and Commander in Chief, next will guest-star on Tuesday night's most-watched program, NCIS, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively. In the CBS procedural's first-ever Christmas episode, Coyote will play a Vietnam War veteran believed to have been dead for the past 12 years. Gibbs & Co., however, discover that the vet is still alive when his fingerprints turn up during a murder investigation. I leave you with an utterly random "trivia" bit I stumbled upon at IMDb just now: Coyote once tested for the role of Indiana Jones. Only now, having just trudged my way through No. 4 on DVD, can I say, "Bullet dodged, Peter." Reminder: NCIS' Rocky Carroll is now celeblogging for TVGuide.com. Regardless of your stance on Vance, check out his first entry!

Pauley Perrette
WORN OUT: Obama Chic at the Emmy Parties. Oh Yeah!
Had enough of the entertainment mags and TV show "experts" dissecting every frock, bauble and last strand of hair seen on the Emmy's red carpet and after-parties last week? We sure have. High fashion designers were falling all over themselves to dress TV's royalty last week, and apparently it really pays off for them, but our pick for best dressed was anything but the pretentious/pricey glamor we see every year.
Actress Pauley Perrette of Navy: NCIS fame (she's the punky forensic scientist) decided to pass on all the freebie fashion and gaudy jewels and wear something close to her heart, this t-shirt of her own design, at the People Mag/Entertainment Tonight Emmy party. The tee, which she paired with a leopard print skirt and relaxed hair and makeup, has really gotten around, and not just on the carpet. Perrette has been making them by the hundreds and distributing them around town for free for several months now, and one even ended up at the DNC (and subsequently an LA Times fashion feature), after a gal bought a bunch and paid 'em forward so to speak.

"A Super fun chain of giving!" Perrette -who makes no money off the shirts- calls it. Somehow we dont see McCain supporters being as selfless or boldly stylish... though Sarah Palin's fashion sense has intrigued us as of late: hoop earrings, red pumps and her naughty secretary look all happen to be seductive style statements, at least they are when we don 'em. If only Hilary could have pulled that stuff off!

Get your "Obama 08 Oh Yeah!" tee here and see this week's Nightranger for more scoop on The People/ET bash with Billy Idol, plus Cheech and Chong's reunion at The Roxy and Booby Trap at Temporary Spaces.

Shane Brennan:
NCIS in the Media - NCIS
According to Brennan, ''for Gibbs, the return of his team is like a homecoming, but the real homecoming occurs when Gibbs goes back to his hometown and is reunited with his father in an upcoming episode that promises to be as emotional as it is revealing.''
NCIS in the Media - NCIS

''DiNozzo's curiosity about how Ziva spent her four months away from the team will lead to some surprising revelations as the season unfolds,'' says Brennan.
NCIS in the Media - NCIS
Says Brennan: ''As hinted in last night's episode, Ziva's four months in Israel may not have just been undercover work. We met her father, Ari David, the director of Israel's Mossad, but who is the mysterious Michael Rivkin?''

note: we know that Ziva's father is actually 'Eli', not 'Ari', who is Ziva's half brother whom we met in Season 1. Also, I read a while ago on a casting list that it was 'Maani Rivkin', not 'Michael', but it could change - Eli David was originally Uri.

NCIS in the Media - NCIS

''With a long career in forensic medicine, the venerable Dr. 'Ducky' Mallard has seen everything, but there is something in his past he'd prefer to forget,'' says Brennan. ''And in an upcoming episode, Ducky's shocking and emotional secret will leave fans stunned.''NCIS in the Media - NCIS

''With her three musketeers reunited, Abby has something to sing about,'' says Brennan. ''Get ready for a surprise in the coming season that will delight fans of the world's most loved forensic scientist.''
NCIS in the Media - NCIS
''Fresh from his tour of the sub-basement, McGee is pleased to be back with the team,'' says Brennan. ''But in an upcoming episode he faces the biggest challenge of his career when he is taken hostage.''
NCIS in the Media - NCIS

''The enigmatic new director has already gone toe-to-toe with Gibbs,'' says Brennan. ''But can Gibbs really trust him? Is he a good guy or a bad guy? And what was the significance of the document he shredded?''

I love Cote's voice. Samba in Prelude and Cry me a river sound very different voice wise. i love it. I also think that it's very ironic that maybe Roberto Pitre is something Modern and Jazzy McGee might listen to.
