Season 4 Highlights

Season 4 premiered on Tuesday, September 19, 2006. It was a season filled with secrets. Secret affairs, secret relationships, secrets kept from loved ones, secrets kept from friends... This was, to say the least, a season full of secrets, lies and no answers.

Gibbs returned from his retirement. Tony had taken over in his absence. La Grenouille has become Director Shepard's obsession to bring him down. Gibbs has some repair work to do to his relationship with Ducky for leaving so abruptly at the end of Season 3. Season 4 ends with us wondering whether Tony's life is at risk or not as he gets into a limo with his girlfriend, Jeanne, and her father, La Grenouille....

  • Season 4 was full of secrets. It started out with Ziva getting framed for an assassination.
  • Gibbs returned from "retirement" only to find out he hadn't really retired, Jenny put him on leave without pay.
  • Tony had taken over while Gibbs was on leave and we learned he held "campfires" when he wanted to brainstorm with the rest of the gang.
  • Tony went undercover with only Jenny knowing. He romanced Jeanne Benoit, who it was revealed in the Season finale, to be La Grenouille's daughter.

Two of the greatest features of DVD's are missing from season 4. What was it they said? How do you spell that (maybe it's just me that wonders this)? Can't tell ya, NO SUBTITLES. This doesn't bother many, but I like 'em and they have answered many questions for me. The other thing missing is the "Play All" feature. I often watch DVD's I've seen a great many times to quiet my thoughts and help me fall asleep. This is difficult to do when the main title music keeps popping up every time I'm just starting to doze off.

The three greatest advancements of the home theater are the sleep timer, subtitles and the "Play All" feature. The only one left is the only one the DVD's have no control over.

I've loved the show ever since my wife found CBS on On Demand (I work nights), but I'm disappointed with the digression of these features on the DVD. Can't say anything about the bonus features, only on the second episode. But they do look to be promising and I look forward to watching them.

Please, someone at CBS instruct Lauren Holly in the proper pronunciation of "grenoulle."

Is she not supposed to be some worldly wise jet-setter or an NCIS Director? It's pronounced gre-noo-y. *Not* gre-nwee, as we keep hearing in the show.

Ducky gets it right every time. Why can't the others learn from him?

Other than that, great show.
