So, for the longest time I've been trying to figure out how old Gibbs is in the show. I've been thinking that since he was too young for Vietnam and that ended in 1975, we can assume he was born some time between 1958 and 1973. Anybody have any idea how old he is in the show? Do you find this valuable?

Not sure, his real age is 57 or 58 yrs this September...I think he's supose to be in his 40's.

Gibbs has to be late 40's. It was stated early that he was too young to serve in Vietnam, and most 'Nam Vets are late 50's early 60's.

Heartland gives as a hint. Gibbs joined the USMC in 1976. He was probably no more than early 20s at the time. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

He joined the USMC in 1976 so he was at least 18 than. I think he joined it at 18. Born in 1958 or around there. Do you find this valuable?

hmm. i don't know why but i must have missed the year he joined. that would have made figuring it out so much easier. thank you! Do you find this valuable?

In Heartland, the flashbacks to Gibbs as a young man all take place during the USA Bicentenary celebrations.... which was 1976. Do you find this valuable?

I think Gibbs is somewhere between 48 and 52. That's my oppinion,. Do you find this valuable?

yes he is! everyone that knows me is pretty much annoyed with me because i don't care what we're talking about...mark harmon makes his way into conversation on a daily basis. lol Do you find this valuable?

Mark Harmon is 57, he will be 58 in early September.

Jethro has to be about 50 or 51. If he graduated from high school and joined the Corps in 1976 he had to be 17 or 18 that year. I believe back then you could join the Corps at 17 if you were a high school graduate.
So 1976 was 33 years ago. 33 + 18 = 51
