NCIS vs NCIS:Los Angeles Is NCIS on it's way out?
Sep 14 2009, 11:33 AM EDT | Post edited: Sep 14 2009, 11:33 AM EDT
Many shows have had succesful spin offs (RE: CSI, etc)
BUT...Could NCIS be in its final seasons?
Will the writers give the same attention to NCIS as they used to? Will they be more devoted to the new spin off instead?

That is what I have been worried about I am afriad with the new spin-off that NCIS will not be as impactic as before, but then I figured that they will have different writters for Los Angeles. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

"That is what I have been worried about I am afriad with the new spin-off that NCIS will not be as impactic as before, but then I figured that they will have different writters for Los Angeles. "
I am worried about this also. Harmon, Weatherly and the gang could be tired after doing 7 long, hard seasons.
Or maybe the writers are tired of NCIS, Already NCIS:LA is getting better electronics, and more action than NCIS...
It is possible that the end of this season we will lose a BIG fan favorite..and judging by the fan reaction possibly NCIS season 8 could be the last..I hope not..I also am afraid that the script lines will be a lot different with the writers focusing more on NCIS: LA than NCIS..but..I pray I am wrong.
I am afraid BAD changes in scripts...variations from the usual character...will be disapointing this season..I HOPE I am wrong.
But usually when a series is winding down the script, plots, storylines and characters seem ..well...lame the last season or two...
Personally I hope NCIS never ends...but All good things must end sometime.

NCIS is NOT on it's way out.

Need I remind you that CSI: Mianmi was spun off CSI in it's 3rd season and CSI is now into what, it's 10th season?

You are in the minority over the last 2 seasons, pookiesmama. Season 6 is considered by the majority of fans to be the best yet. Season 5 was only disjointed because of the writer's strike. The story arc had to be truncated and so it ended up feeling rushed and wrong.

Believe me, the writers, cast and the rest of the crew love NCIS very much. Mark Harmon has said that he gets up in the morning looking forward to going to the set. That's not the hallmark of an actor tired of a role.

I did not mean to single out one actor alone ...as an example...ONLY! I am SURE that the cast LOVE their work. or they would not have been onthere so long!!! .but sometimes actors like to go off and expand into movies, etc. THAT is what I meant ... NOT some big NCIS cast n crew war causing people to quit NCIS..I did not mean that at all.
ALSO PLEASE PLEASE NOTE>>>> I DID NOT mean that the last 2 seasons of NCIS werelame...I meant that when A show is winding down..the last few seasons of that show are lame..NOT NCIS...ever to me! BUT I can see how I had written it it may have looked like I thought the show had become lame....
I forgot they had a strike..though IT did not seem to hurt the show in my opinion..(my daughter was in the hospital for MOST of the strike season)
YES there are several shows that have had sucessful spin-offs..but some have not....I only mean that I DO NOT want NCIS to suffer becasue of all the hype over NCIS:LA
SORRY if I have offended you in any way shape or form,
