The meaning of Leroy Jethro

I read the meaning of his name: Leroy comes from french and it meanes something like "the king", name Jethro comes from hebrew and it means something like "outstanding". That's what I read, I hope that it's right, becouse it defenetely matches with Gibbs

Jethro was the father-in-law of Moses and means "friend of God" . I've looked for the meanings of NCIS names , and they are very interesting ! Do you find this valuable? |

I like to find out the meaning of the name. But I think the point here was that Leroy Jethro wasn't a name that would be chosen for Gibbs, but it was given to him, becouse of someone else. Exept if Gibbs is simmilar to his father's best friend. I hope you understand what I mean.Here, I looked for the meaning of the other names: Anthony/Tony - comes from latin and it means "worhty of praise" Ziva - comes form hebrew - "spelndor" Timothy/Tim - greek - "honored by god" Abigail/Abby - hebrew - "father's joy" Donald - celtic - "world rule" That's what I found. What did you find out? Sometimes the meanings can be different, becouse languages were changing through the time and new words got new meanings in different languages. Do you find this valuable? |

Thi's what I found out : Anthony - someone who fights, confronts , precedes , refuses the limits and loves the victory , and when he loves is very faithful . Ziva - shining light , but also Slav goddess of prosperity . Timothy - soft , pure , trustful . Abigail - falls for power and success , but also for her irrational side and for occult . I think that their names are very similar to their character ! Do you find this valuable? |
