TIVA; a YES
Oct 20 2009, 1:40 PM EDT
If there's good writing, as well as acting, I believe Tony and Ziva can have their professional relationship as well as a romantic one. I think Ziva can still barge into the men's bathroom any time! Us fans shouldn't have to choose a side!In life there's always work and play time, this shouldn't be any different :) Viewers and writers tend to lean too much to one side of the relationship aspect instead of finding that balance between the two. They can be Tony and Ziva the professionals with the longing looks and endless teasing at work; and tthen hey be TIVA, the wonderfull mix-matched, star-crossed, completely in love, can't live with-out you couple. 4 out of 5 found this valuable. Do you? |

Law enforcement organizations and Federal Agencies will generally have rules/regulations prohibiting co-workers who are romantically involved from working on the same team. If Tony and Ziva every did hook up, one of them would have to be transferred to a different team. Either that or they'd have to lie to Gibbs and McGee about being involved - and after the whole 'lying about Jeanne' debacle in season 4, I doubt if Tony would want to betray Gibbs's trust like that again. Gibbs would smack the crud out of both of them if they tried it....rule 9 (I think?) is "never date a co-worker". So they would have to hide it, and that would be hard in a profession where you have to work so closely with your teammates. And, yeah, a lot of law-enforcement agencies will prohibit married couples (or those in a relationship) from working together in any capacity, so that would have to be dealt with. Too complicated, IMO.

YES, would Gibbs allow it - NO!!!!! remember the first episode with Kate and her Marine Corp boyfriend that got her fired from the Secret Service, and Gibbs' instructions to her to make sure it NEVER happens while working for him. I agree 100% Tony and Ziva can have a professional relationship when at work and a romantic relationship outside of work. Tony and Ziva can still have the looks and teasing at work, but have kissing, dinner, and many more romantic scenes outside of work!!! The writer of this show has done such a AWESOME job so far I mean hello it is the #1 show on TV and has been on for 7 seasons, they no how to keep it professional and how to put romance and comedy into the show and they no what us viewers want on the show. Gibbs does have a rule about dating co-workers it's number 12, Anyway I think Gibbs wouldn't really care because he has seen the way they act around each other and how much they care about each other I mean when Tony almost gave up about Ziva in the 1st episode of season 7 Gibbs pushed Tony to keep going and he did and they saved Ziva, Then in the 2nd episode of season 7 Gibbs told Ziva him she needed to talk to Tony and she did. Gibbs has dated a co-worker before remember Jenny I think he will let them date as long they don't do anything at work and Tony don't hurt Ziva because she is like a daughter to Gibbs now, Gibbs probally thinks that they need to see if they can stand to be together in a romatic relationship or if they just want to be friends I mean Gibbs did go down that road. But I think Tony and Ziva make a great couple!!! I LOVE NCIS AND TIVA!!!!! Can't Wait To See More TIVA!!! I Love Season 7!!!

"I agree 100% Tony and Ziva can have a professional relationship when at work and a romantic relationship outside of work. And I reiterate. If this show is to have any semblance of reality about it, as soon as Ziva and Tony went public, boom, one of them gets a transfer. Doesn't have to be out of Washington, doesn't even have to be out of the building, but as a team, they'd be done. No Federal or Law Enforcement Agency would allow them to work on the same team. You think Gibbs wouldn't care that half his team would be focusing on each other in the field instead of the job? We've already seen that Ziva can't be trusted to follow orders and that's even without a romantic relationship in the mix. And as for what viewers want, well many of them DO NOT WANT Ziva and Tony to hook up. Do you find this valuable? |

They wouldn't send them to different teams because I know some show that the people who work together have a relationship I mean look at Without A Trace, Danny and Elena were dating then they got married but they didn't get sent to a different team or department. Callie and Eric on CSI: Miami are dating....

Callie and Eric on CSI: Miami are dating...."I don't know about Without a Trace because I haven't watched it....but on CSI Miami, they're just forensic techs, not actual law-enforcement officers, so it's different. They could be involved without anyone's life being at risk. In law enforcement, they do not allow couples to be on the same team, because (using the NCIS team as examples) say McGee and Tony were in a sitation they needed to be saved from. Ziva would naturally be more likely to save Tony, even if McGee were more in need of saving. It's only natural and a good thing....but not in terms of law enforcement. NCIS as a show does try to keep things real and accurate (one reason I like it better than the other procedurals). Plus Gibbs' rule about not dating co-workers. So really it couldn't realistically happen. If it did, I think it would be something of a shark jump. Do you find this valuable? |
